Whenever your video signal passes through a titler, special effects generator or color corrector, it is exposed to degradation. During post-production editing, it is necessary to use these devices to enhance your production. But when it's time to run off copies of the finished program, it doesn't make sense to keep them in the "circuit". Bypassing them usually means disconnecting the cables and the risk of wearing out the connectors on your expensive video gear.
The SuperSwitch is a S-VHS/HI-8 (Y/C) junction box that allows you to bypass the special effect generator with a push of the button.
1. In the PROCESSOR OPERATE position the Y/C video signal is sent through the mixer, character generator etc., and the SuperSwitch will not affect the operation of the video component.
2. In the PROCESSOR BYPASS mode the video component is taken off-line, and the signal is rerouted through the SuperSwitch, preserving the original quality of the signal.
